@Pageyindahouse There isn’t a really large difference in hitting power, and that difference can be reduced even more using different pellets. The main difference is the ark that the pellet will take, a .177 is far more forgiving in your ranging judgement and that may prove more effective in getting accurate shots every time. A .177 will kill any quarry up to 30-35 yards without a problem as long as it hits the kill zone. And then you can take a .177 target shooting as well which is a plus.
@PinkyPurply Good comment, I’ve used .177 for quite some time now but gone back to .22 for no particular reason as far as caliber is concerned.
you can’t go wrong with an 80. hits the target everytime. not for wimps though,its a big gun
@farookbulsasra Sure is “butch”
the train at the and is going backwards
is that the gas ram hw
@superhunter992 No this is Spring, The Gas ram is the HW90 hope this helps
)
@superhunter992 No It isn’t, you can buy an aftermarket gasram for the HW80 but I’m keeping to a spring.
Little question here because you use the .22 pellets
is it true that .22 calibre spring guns are easier to shoot than .177 calibre rifles? Is .177 more hold sensitive?
@gunvidder thnx alot dear
i will buy HW 80/77/95 same you next week
Do you recommend them
@Qsam8 Yes, well built, hold there value & shoots well. All you have to do is look after them & keep them in good service condition. Find a good pellet that the barrel likes & you should enjoy any of those rifles but they are quite different from each other, The 80 is big & heavy, the 77 is an under lever & the 95 is smaller & lighter. Choose wisely for what you want & how each rifle fits you & how it feels when you shoulder it.
Hi, Been using superdomes in my HW80 the past 2 weeks an it seems to love them! I don’t think this rifle is pellet fussy
)
@PUG205GTX My R7 doesn’t like them, shame as the price is right. I’m looking for a pellet now that both the HW80 & R7 likes. Tough challange.
@gunvidder hmmm have you tried JSB’s? I hear they supposed to be good? I have used H&N Field Target Trophy in my Grandads HW97 it loves them but at £11 odd a tin it gets expensive!
what neck of the woods you from
you sound like an am yam like me
@Viking9280 A few miles south but worked up that way for a very long time.
@gunvidder Hi my son use rws super dome in 22 in his hw95k it loves them
@bsagasram RWS is a good make so you know quality is good & RWS / Weihrauch are both German so a good match.
what’s the distance mate ?
@WHATISDIZ Can’t remember the actuall distance but I think it was 30yds.
pls check out me shooting with my HW 80
Bought a HW80 with silencer. All I can say is, IT’S AWESOME.
2 people missed the crow!
my hw80 has no silencer does that mean its older than yours or simply just a different model also try out daystate li pellets they work great in my hw80 for hitting cans at 60 yards
try out daystate Li pellets they work brilliantly in that gun
